One-off pieces made by hand for weddings, performances, festivals, parties and shoots. Capes, headdresses, harnesses, epaulettes, catsuits, or the whole look. Tell me the occasion, the date and the vibe, and I'll come back with ideas and a quote.
Consultations are by video call, or in person at a central London studio by arrangement.
How it works

2. I reply within 3 working days with questions and a quote.
3. A 50% deposit books your slot.
4. I make it, with progress photos if you'd like them.
5. You pay the balance, then it's posted Royal Mail Tracked or collected. materials can vary slightly from photos. Photos: I'll only share photos of your piece if you say yes on the form. Postage: UK only. Postage is extra: Royal Mail Tracked, or Special Delivery for high-value pieces.
Made to order or commision
Made to order: a design from the shop, made fresh in your size and colours. Order online and pay in full at checkout. Usually 1-2 weeks (masks and stockings 3-5 working days).
Commission: a new design made just for you, shaped by your occasion, ideas and direction. Send an enquiry using the form below. Quoted from the prices below, 50% deposit, usually 3-6 weeks.

Every commission is quoted individually: these are starting points, not fixed prices.
Christmas commissions
For a commission in time for Christmas, send your enquiry by Friday 13 November and pay your deposit by Friday 20 November. Places are limited (max 2-3), so get in touch early.
After that, shop pieces are still made to order up to Royal Mail's last posting dates.
Commission terms
Deposit: 50% books your slot. It's non-refundable once materials are bought. The balance is due before dispatch or collection. I'll send a Square invoice.
Lead time: usually 3-6 weeks, depending on the piece and materials (some feathers take around 4 weeks to arrive).
Rush jobs: ask first. If I can fit it in, there's a minimum 20% rush fee. Adjustments: one round included once you've tried it on. Further changes are quoted separately.
Returns: commissions are made to your measurements, so the 14-day cancellation right doesn't apply. Faulty items are always put right.
If you cancel: the deposit is kept, and any extra materials already bought are charged at cost.
Designs and colourways: designs and colourways stay Practical Glamour's, so I may make similar colours or styles again for future orders. If you'd like a true one-off that won't be repeated, ask about an exclusive piece (quoted separately).
Materials: feathers, gems and dyed materials can vary slightly from photos.
Photos: I'll only share photos of your piece if you say yes on the form.
